Geochronology and Petrogenesis of the Early Paleozoic Jilongjie Granites in the Central South China Block: Implication for Post-Kinematic Lithospheric Delamination

Controversy over the geodynamic interpretation of early Paleozoic granites in South China Block constrains understanding tectonic–magmatic evolution. In this paper, we present zircon U-Pb age, Hf isotope, and major trace element data Jilongjie region, south-central Hunan Province. A sample that yielded a weighted average 206Pb/238U age 425 ± 3 Ma falls into post-collisional granite field classification discriminant magmatic rocks. Geochemical features indicate pluton is shoshonitic metaluminous rock. The pluton’s chondrite-normalized rare earth patterns exhibit slight enrichment light elements (LREEs) relative to heavy (HREEs) with (La/Yb)N ratios 15.1–23.7 weak Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.68–0.78). Zircon isotope results show εHf(t) ranging from −9.94 −0.69. granite’s parent magma originated mixing crust-derived felsic mantle-derived mafic magmas, which then underwent fractional crystallization during its ascent. was generated through extensional setting associated delamination thickened lithosphere.
